Kurgan Regional Branch of the Russian Geographical Society has announced the start of an open online geographical song contest "Let the song flow in the open". The competition will take place from 02/21/2022 to 05/20/2022.
The main purpose of the competition is to stimulate the creative activity of participants and popularize the cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia.
The competition is held remotely, by using video recordings, without any entrance fee. The jury are experienced musicians and teachers. To participate in the contest, the participant prepares and performs one song in Russian. Each video recording should contain one song. The lyrics of the song should be dedicated to some geographical object (city, river, mountain, country, etc.) with a specific name.
There are four nominations in the online geographical song contest "Let the song flow in the open":
- Solo performance;
- Collective performance;
- Author's song;
- Songs about the Trans-Ural region.
Applications are accepted until April 30, 2022.

The winners of the contest will be recommended to perform at the Geographer's Day and receive valuable gifts.
