"Indigenous peoples of the North. History, ethnography and culture" Readings to be held in Murmansk

"Indigenous peoples of the North. History, ethnography and culture". Readings will take place on April 22, 2022.

The following topics are proposed for discussion:

- problems of studying the regions and territories of the indigenous peoples of the Far North;

- Indigenous peoples of Russia: ethnocultural projections;

- problems of studying the history and culture of the indigenous peoples of the Far North;

- unity of the culture of the indigenous peoples of the Far North;

- material and non-material culture of the indigenous peoples of the Far North, problems of study and preservation;

- tasks and opportunities of local history museums in reflecting the culture of the regions inhabited by the indigenous peoples of the Far North;

- museums of the regions inhabited by the indigenous peoples of the Far North in the development of the museum business of the Russian Federation;

- implementation of projects aimed at the development of traditional economic activities of the indigenous peoples of the Far North;

- native languages, traditional culture and national sports, ethnotourism - new ways of development;

- the state and tasks of the development of the native languages of the indigenous peoples of the Far North and the scope of their use;

- preservation, development of traditional culture, folklore of the indigenous peoples of the Far North, search for optimal models, forms and methods;

- popularization of national sports of the indigenous peoples of the Far North;

- preservation of places of worship and sanctuaries of the indigenous peoples of the Far North;

- formation of a tourist product of ethnographic orientation

 - Indigenous peoples of the Far North as a special element of state policy: problems, experience, solutions.

Readings are held by the Ministry of Culture of the Murmansk Region and the Murmansk Regional Museum of Local Lore. The working languages of the Readings are Russian and English. The materials of the Readings will be published in a collection. There is no registration fee for participation in the Readings and publication of the report.
