As usual, there were 40 questions in the Dictation: to solve the questions of the first part you only needed to know the basic geography facts, the second part required imaginative thinking, logic and erudition. One of the questions was directly devoted to the Murmansk region. It was a question about the Rybachy Peninsula.

September through October, a joint project with the MRB RGS was implemented in the Quantorium-51. Its goal was to create a three-dimensional model of the monument to Alexander Nevsky. The project is dedicated to the widely celebrated 800th anniversary of Alexander Nevsky in 2021.

The monument to Alexander Nevsky, installed in 1985 in Veliky Novgorod, was taken as a model. The Hi-Tech-51 team consisting of Maria Fisiurenko, Anastasia Tsareva and Maria Shibaeva, led by Irina Shungina, worked hard to create a three-dimensional model of the monument.

In the future, it is planned to use 3D-printed models for educational events, including events for blind and visually impaired people in cooperation with the Murmansk State Regional Special Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Coincidentally, one of the Dictation questions was devoted to the recent discovery made by the RGS Underwater Research Center and related to the activities of Alexander Nevsky.

This summer, scientists of the Russian Geographical Society explored Lake Peipsi in the Pskov region to determine where exactly the famous Battle on the Ice took place in 1242.

The divers, using the most modern technologies, studied the bottom of the lake, hoping to find traces of the legendary battle. The exact location of the famous Battle on the Ice has remained a mystery to historians until now, but this year the RGS Underwater Research Center has come much closer to solving it. At the bottom of Lake Peipsi, it seems, the "Crow Stone" was found. According to records, this is exactly where Alexander Nevsky and his army fought the knights of the Livonian Order in 1242. Scientists hope for new discoveries. At the bottom of Lake Peipsi in the area of the "Crow Stone" the should be able to find traces of the battle - weapons and armor. These traces can be the final confirmation that the battle took place there.

After the dictation, Sergey Goncharov told the participants about the 800th anniversary of Alexander Nevsky and the plans of the Murmansk Regional Branch to hold an event dedicated to the anniversary until the end of 2021.

Denis Moiseev recalled how, as a schoolboy in the 1980s, he was on summer vacation in the village of Samolva, Pskov region: "Once, together with a local resident, old Lesha and his grandson Seryozha, we went fishing on a motorboat in Lake Peipsi. On the way, Lesha specially brought us boys to the Crow Stone. It was clearly visible at a depth of 2-3 m through the brownish water of the lake. That is, the locals then knew perfectly well where the Crow Stone was located. This year, a memorial dedicated to Alexander Nevsky was inaugurated near Samolva."
