One of the major activities of the Murmansk Branch of the Russian Geographical Society is developing new routes along the Kola Peninsula. Today, most tourists who visit the Murmansk region oftentimes just go to Teriberka and on the Northern Lights hunting trips, while a huge number of natural attractions remains unexplored due to their remoteness and inaccessibility. Even trips to the Rybachy and Sredny peninsulas are not available to everyone – you can only reach them on an off-road vehicle. Therefore, it is important not only to create new tourist routes, but also to make the existing ones more accessible to guests of the region. In achieving this objective, the Murmansk Branch of the RGS is actively assisted by the "Patriots of Murmansk 4x4" club and its head Vyacheslav Panov. This trip is not the first collaboration. Such off-road trips to hard-to-reach places are essential not only for exploring new routes, but also for preparing for the expeditions organized by the Murmansk Branch of the RGS. During these trips, various difficult situations are worked out and the state of transport is checked.
