A photo report from a meeting of pilots of the Northern Fleet's naval fighter aviation regiment at the permanent base airfield in Severomorsk-3, who were trained to fly from the deck of an aircraft carrier in the Crimea.
The training of deck pilots of the Northern Fleet took place at the ground engineering and technical aviation complex (NITKA), simulating the flight deck of the heavy aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov.
The Severomorsk crew worked out thirteen flight shifts and completed more than 1,000 exercises on the simulator. The exercises included passing over the "deck", touching it with released landing gear and hooking cable of the arrestor gear with a cant hook.
