"The Best Guide of Russia" is the largest video tours contest in the country, aimed at both professional guides and amateurs. The project was created in 2017 by the Russian Geographical Society, the TV channel “My Planet" and radio "Mayak".
The aim of the competition is to find the most enthusiastic and talented guides who are able to show people from all around Russia sights and landmarks of their regions.
From May to September 2021, the contest participants sent more than 800 videos for the jury to judge. All works submitted in 2021 are available on the website of the project.
Roman Egorov gives tours around the Kola Peninsula. Last November he received a membership card of the Russian Geographical Society from the the chairman of the Murmansk Regional RGS Branch Denis Moiseev. His video dedicated to the village of Teriberka took second place in the nomination "Ecotourism". You can watch it here.
