The Time I Almost Got Eaten by a Polar Bear: a geography lecture will take place in Murmansk

Dear colleagues!

In the last week of April, the All-Russian educational campaign of the Russian Geographical Society "Not-a-Geography Lesson" will take place. On April 21 at 14:00 at the Atomic Energy Information Center on board the nuclear icebreaker Lenin, as part of this campaign, a geography lecture The Time I Almost Got Eaten by a Polar Bear will take place. During the event, representatives of the Murmansk Regional Branch of the RGS will tell about their expeditions, exciting events and finds, present an exhibition with unique artifacts discovered during the expeditions and answer questions.

Preliminary program of the event:

13:30-14:00 — registration of participants

14:00-14:30 — opening ceremony, welcoming words

14:30-15:00 — presentation of the exhibition of the MRB RGS

15:00-16:00 — a lecture about the Arctic expeditions of the MRB RGS The Time I Almost Got Eaten by a Polar Bear

16:00-17:00 — audience questions, quiz, presentation of gifts to participants, summing up

"Not-a-Geography Lesson" is a fundamentally new educational format. Unlike a standard school lesson, it turns the learning process into an entertaining journey and an exciting game. Participants will take part in hikes, master classes, excursions, practical classes, as well as interactive events using the virtual educational and entertainment portal World of Geography.

Within 10 days, the project will host 440 events in 65 regions of the Russian Federation.
