Videos from the historical and cultural event “Alexander Nevsky and the Kola North” are now availiable

On December 25, a historical and cultural event dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the great commander took place in the Monchegorsk City Center of Culture. Public and cultural figures, military personnel, schoolchildren, the administration of Monchegorsk, representatives of the Russian Geographical Society and the Russian Orthodox Church took part in the event.

During the event, the audience had a chance to see a film prepared by the Murmansk Regional Branch of the Russian Geographical Society. The film contains records about the life of Alexander Nevsky, speeches by historians and specialists of the Underwater Research Center of the Russian Geographical Society.

A professional falconer Vadim Avodnev, who came from St. Petersburg, spoke at the event. He told about the peculiarities of his work and read the poem "The Red Gyrfalcon", dedicated to the ancient craft. You can see a fragment of his speech here.

The event also featured a performance by historical reenactors from several clubs in the Murmansk Region, organized by Alexey Ermakov, a member of the Russian Geographical Society from Kandalaksha. You can watch the recording of the fight here.
