Title: Altai-Sayan Expedition of the Russian Geographical Society

Goal: Obtain new data on regional reactions of mountain landscapes of Altai and Sayan to climate changes in the present and the historical past.

Objectives:

  • Collect and document data on regional reactions of mountain landscapes of Altai and Sayan to climate changes in the present and the historical past.
  • Encourage and increase interest in geographic field work among new generations of researchers. During the course of the project more than thirty geography major  students from Saint-Petersburg, Altai and Tyva will have participated in field trips.
