Beauty expands the geography

A photo exhibition of the Russian Geographical Society has been open in the capital of Bulgaria. The lights of the polar night, the greatness of mountains, the volcanoes of Kamchatka – these landscapes are making passers-by to slow down their steps in the Sofia park «Gradska Gradina». In the capital of Bulgaria the temperature is about +26 degrees C, but it seems, that the snow-capped sceneries of the Far North are bringing cold.

Since the 10th of July, the residents and the guests have been admiring the best pictures of Russia according to the Russian Geographical Society. The open air exhibition presents works by the winners and the finalists of the contest of the Russian Geographical Society.

«The most beautiful country» photo contest - is a scale media project of the Russian Geographical Society, aimed at the maintaining of the nature of Russia and fostering respect for the environment through the art of photography. The photo contest took place in 2015 for the first time and caused a wide public response. The contest has become annual from the year of 2016.

The exhibition in Sofia is organized with the support of the Ministry of culture of Russia and the Russian Embassy in Bulgaria. The Vernissage, that is visited by a lot of people, was presented by Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Bulgaria Anatoly Makarov.

Visitors can enjoy photos of «The most beautiful country» in Sofia until the 23rd of July. Such exhibitions have already been working in France, Romania, China, Vietnam and in the other countries.
