A group of reseachers from Khakass republic department of Russian Geographical Society and from State Nature Reserve ‘Khakass’ set off to the mountain region of Altay-Sayan in search for the legendary cat.
Goals:
- Organization and conduct of the expedition aimed at assessing the state of snow leopard’s population
Objectives:
- Organization and development of wildlife refuge ‘Pozarym’, designed to preserve rare and endangered species, especially the snow leopard;
- Recommendations on studying and boosting the efficiency of the snow leopard’s preservation in Russia

- Inspection of the valley of the Karatosh river.

- Establishment of the wildlife refuge ‘Pozarym’.
