The Russian Geographical Society is taking part in the international cyber festival Positive Hack Days 2, which takes place at the Luzhniki Sports Complex in Moscow from May 23 to May 26, 2024. Here you can watch VR movies and test your knowledge of geography. The RGS pavilion is located in the open part of the festival: admission is free for everyone.

The RGS keeps up with the times and actively uses digital technologies. For example, you can visit a VR cinema at the Society’s stand in Luzhniki. You put on VR glasses and headphones and find yourself in the most remote and beautiful corners of our country. Fly over the nesting grounds of guillemots on the Kola Peninsula, watch the clouds form on Ai-Petri Mountain in the Crimea, swim underwater with the ringed seal in the Sea of Okhotsk or enjoy the singing of gray whales.

Also, thanks to VR technologies, you can listen to the story of Pyotr Semenov-Tyan-Shansky about his adventures in Altai and Central Asia, take part in an excursion conducted by Alexander Kolchak, immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the historical building of the RGS Headquarters in St. Petersburg.
