The award for the best projects in the field of travel in Russia Russian Traveler Awards is dedicated to the main tourist events of our country. The event was organized by the publication Russian Traveler. The nominees were chosen by the readers of the magazine through online voting, and the expert jury had the final say. Among others, the Russian Geographical Society joined it.
This year, more than 500 projects from 64 regions of Russia and foreign countries were nominated for the award. Over 500,000 users took part in the voting for the finalists of the contest in each of the 21 categories. The jury members announced the results of the award and talked about popular and new interesting locations on the tourist map of Russia. For example, the top three ski resorts according to the Russian Traveler Awards 2024 are Sheregesh, “Gorniy Vozdukh” on Sakhalin, and “Arkhyz”. Zelenogradsk, Caucasian Mineral Waters, and Belokurikha were named leaders in the field of health resorts. And among the natural sites, the Kerzhensky Nature Reserve (Nizhny Novgorod Region), Usvinskye Stolby (Perm Territory), Pinezhskye Caves (Arkhangelsk Region), and Strelnaya Mountain (Samara Region) were declared the best.
Outstanding projects in the field of tourism were awarded with a separate award. The prize for education and preservation of cultural heritage was awarded to the international scientific and educational center "Ancient Heritage of Russia". The award was presented by Angelika Chaikova, Deputy Director of the Expeditionary Activities and Tourism Development Department of the RGS.

“For the Russian Geographical Society, the topic of expeditions and travel in Russia has been one of the key topics throughout its almost 180-year history. It is gratifying for us to participate in projects such as the Russian Traveler Awards, as all of us gathered here, whether nominees, winners or jury members and guests, work in the tourism sector and create projects to make our country better and more attractive. This is our main strength," she said.
The award ceremony of the winners and runners-up of the national tourist award Russian Traveler Awards was held at the Radisson Collection Hotel, Moscow. Also, a photo contest "Treasures of Russia" was held within the framework of the project. There the participants shared their pictures and showed their Russia – from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka.
