On December 9, in the framework of the Festival of the Russian Geographical Society the Award of the Russian Geographical Society will be solemnly presented.
The Award of the Russian Geographical Society is given for contribution in the field of national geography, ecology, conservation and popularization of natural, historical and cultural heritage of Russia. The award is presented by the Society for the first time and has an international status.
This year the award will be given to the best projects implemented under the auspices of the Russian Geographical Society in the period from 2012 to 2014. Competent jury decides on the distribution of the geographical Awards in such categories as:
- Expeditions and travels
- Geographical research
- Youth projects
- Media projects
- Natural and cultural heritage
- The Russian Geographical Society Man of the Year
- Best foreign project dedicated to Russia
Applications for the Award of the Russian Geographical Society can be submitted on the Society’s Russian website from August 15 to September 5, 2014.
