On June 20 in the hall of the Museum of the Headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society in St. Petersburg, the exhibition " Sergei Obrucheva's expedition of 1918-1939 in the photos. Last geographical discoveries of the XX century" opened.
Sergey Obruchev (1891-1965) - member of the USSR Academy of Sciences, professor, laureate of the State Prize, an outstanding scientist and explorer of the XX century, continued the work of his father, Academician Vladimir Afanasevich Obruchev, famous geologist and writer, Hero of Socialist Labor.
Photos taken by Sergei Obruchev during geological and geographical expeditions in remote and unexplored areas of northeastern Siberia will be shown at the exhibition.
The exhibition will last until August 31st, 2014.
