A Swimming Relay to Mark the Day of the Russian Flag

From 15 to 22 August, a swimming relay will be held on the Krasnoyarsk reservoir to mark the Day of the National Flag of the Russian Federation. The relay to set a record of Russia and Europe will start in the village of Ust-Abakan in the Republic of Khakassia and will end in the Shumikha Gulf of the city of Divnogorsk in the Krasnoyarsk region. Swimmers will swim the distance of 450 km, replacing each other.

World record holders and champions, participants in the swim across the Bering Strait, world-class sportsmen, masters of sports of international class, masters of sports in cold water swimming will take part in the relay.

The event is aimed at the patriotic education of young people, promotion of a healthy lifestyle, physical training and sports swimming.

In 2017, the swimming relay on the Krasnoyarsk reservoir was held from 20 to 22 August, the participants swam 150 km

The swimming relay is organized by the “Union of paratroopers of Russia” together with the charitable foundation for the development of education, culture and sports "The world of opportunities" in Krasnoyarsk, with the support of the authorities and the Ministry of Sports of the Krasnoyarsk region.
