On October 22, representatives of the Murmansk regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society, the Non-profit Fund “Shield", the Murmansk Regional Duma, the authorities of Mezhdurechye, as well as the Mezhdurechenskaya School representatives laid flowers at the monuments and burial sites of Soviet and Norwegian soldiers.

Throughout the last three months, activists of the Murmansk Regional RGS Branch Youth club participated in All-Russian conventions of RGS Youth clubs. The conventions were dedicated to the 5th anniversary of their creation. They then shared their invaluable experience with their peers in the region, introducing new ideas for tourism development and promotion of geography and related sciences.

On October 27, 2021, an international scientific and practical conference "Security of Arctic frontiers: ecology, history, images of the future" will be held in the Kola Science Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The Murmansk regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society coordinates the event. This conference was held for the first time in October 2020 in Murmansk and aroused great interest among Russian and foreign participants.
