Far-Eastern floating university
The expedition of the “Far-Eastern floating university” on the research vessel “Professor Khlyustin” undergoes under the aegis of the G.I. Nevelskoi’s Maritime State University and the Russian Geographical Society. Main task of the expedition is environment and climate change research in the Arctic.
The vessel has state-of-the-art equipment including remotely operated submersible vehicle “Max-300”. 80 cadets of the Maritime University and students from Far-Eastern University, 31 scientists from Far-Eastern and Siberian offices of the Russian Academy of Science and Russia’s Institute for Strategic Studies took part in the first season of the expedition.
The first academic expedition on the research vessel “Professor Khlyustin” underwent in the eastern part of the Arctic, from 12 July to 9 September, 2013.
